On 27 April 2026, an extended operational meeting was held at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the topic: «On the state of departmental education and science within the prosecution service», attended by Askhat Zhumagali, Deputy General Prosecutor of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The meeting was also attended via videoconference by heads of structural units of the General Prosecutor’s Office, regional prosecutors and their equivalents.
The current year has been declared by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan as the Year of Departmental Education for Law Enforcement Agencies, which lends particular significance to the development of the staff training system and the scientific support for the activities of the prosecution service.
During the meeting, systematic approaches to the formation of a comprehensive staff training model were developed, and priority measures for the development of departmental education and science were identified.
A programme for a modern, practice-oriented training model was presented, ensuring the continuous development of professional competencies at all stages of service – from initial training to promotion to managerial positions.
Particular attention was paid to the adaptation and mentoring of young staff, as well as the introduction of compulsory professional retraining when staff change roles.
The development of departmental research has been identified as a separate area of focus. A key priority has been set as strengthening the applied nature of research aimed at addressing pressing issues in law enforcement practice.
The need to ensure the practical relevance and demand for scientific research, as well as its integration into the activities of the prosecution service, has been emphasised.
The meeting participants confirmed their readiness to implement comprehensive initiatives aimed at the further development of the departmental education and science system.
