Professional development course on «Basic Digital Forensics» at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies

The Law Enforcement Academy under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan has launched a professional development course entitled «Basic Digital Forensics». This is the second stage of a three-module training programme for a group of prosecutors acquiring practical skills in handling digital evidence.

The course covers issues relating to the identification and seizure of digital evidence, actions at the scene of an incident, ensuring data integrity, and the proper procedural documentation of such evidence.

Particular emphasis is placed on practical training. Classes are held at a cyber training ground using scenarios that simulate real investigative situations.

Upon completion of the course, participants will acquire the skills to exercise prosecutorial oversight in cases involving the use of information and communication technologies, including working with digital evidence, electronic data, open-source information and blockchain technologies.
