The Academy has completed an online seminar for employees of the Prosecutor’s Office, the National Security Committee, the Financial Monitoring Agency, the Ministries of Internal Affairs, and emergency situations.
The training program is devoted to the fight against extremism and terrorism: countering financing, modern methods of investigation, ensuring the security of facilities vulnerable to terrorism.
Using the example of real cases, the participants studied the functions and capabilities of each state body in this area. The forms and methods of financing, including the use of crypto assets in the network, the significance of UN Security Council sanctions in this work and the opportunities provided by big data analysis are considered.
The basics of organizing the investigation of terrorist crimes using improvised explosive devices are explained, international best practices and real examples from domestic and foreign practice are studied.
In terms of ensuring security at facilities vulnerable to terrorism, along with practical legislative and technical tasks, special attention is paid to the formation of anti-terrorist consciousness among the population in the event of the seizure of objects of this category.
The event was organized jointly with the KNB Academy with the support of the OSCE Program Office in Astana.
