The event took place on October 26 in Almaty with the participation of representatives of law enforcement agencies of Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
The participants discussed the results of national and regional projects in the field of forensic examination, combating drug trafficking, international terrorism, cybercrime, corruption, human trafficking and financial crimes.
Ulan Baizhanov in his speech focused on the implementation of the main directions of the UNODC Program in Kazakhstan, as well as cooperation with international organizations in the field of combating money laundering and transnational organized crime. He stressed the need to further expand the areas of cooperation to strengthen international security, combat modern challenges and threats.
The UN representatives highly appreciated the work of the Regional Hub for Countering Global Threats at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies, noting the importance of using scientific and educational potential to improve the effectiveness of the fight against crime.
Following the results of the meeting, the directions of further activities in all the main vectors of cooperation were determined.
