An international videoconference bridge “Human trafficking and Technologies” was held at the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies, where representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office, police and court of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, civil society and international organizations took part.
During the discussions, topical issues of the use of modern technologies for the purpose of human trafficking were discussed, the need for comprehensive efforts and systematic work of authorized bodies to solve existing problems, develop effective measures to prevent and suppress these crimes was noted.
As part of the review of the situation, an exchange of experience and best national practices of investigating cases of human trafficking committed using IT technologies, protection and assistance to victims took place.
The event was organized jointly with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and timed to coincide with the World Day against Human Trafficking.
