On November 12, the Rector of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies, Yergali Merzadinov, met with Navid Riyaz, Head of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in Kazakhstan, and Adam Miralizoda, Director of the Central Asian Regional Information Coordination Center (CARICC) for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking.
Welcoming the foreign colleagues, the head of the Academy noted the high level of cooperation in the context of strengthening international security, combating the challenges and threats of the modern world.
During the meeting, the main directions of joint work within the framework of the implementation of educational programs for 2021 were discussed.
In particular, the main topics of training events for law enforcement officers in Kazakhstan, the CIS countries and Central Asia are illegal drug trafficking, transnational organized crime, and money laundering.
?The interlocutors also exchanged views on the further implementation of existing joint projects in the framework of countering terrorism.
The guests highly appreciated the activities of the Academy within the framework of the Regional Hub for Countering Global Threats, and also expressed interest in further strengthening partnership relations and expanding cooperation.
The parties confirmed their mutual readiness to continue and develop the existing dialogue, to provide comprehensive assistance in conducting scientific and educational events at the regional and interregional levels.
