MAXIM IVANOVICH SHEREMETYEV

Born in 1981, in 2002 he graduated from the Kazakh Humanitarian Law University with a degree in Law. Class rank-Senior Justice Adviser.
In the prosecutor’s office since 2002. Since 2012, in the Prosecutor General’s Office. He worked in the analytical divisions of the 2-Department (1-Service) as a senior prosecutor, head of the department, head of the department.
Since October 2018, he has been working at the Moscow Research Institute of the Academy as a chief researcher, head of the Center for the Study of Criminal Procedure Problems.
Since March 2021-Deputy Director of the Moscow Research Institute of the Academy.
He is a co-author of the monographs “Procedural costs of pre-trial investigation in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Privacy”, as well as Methodological recommendations on the distinction between corruption offenses and management errors.
Research interests: criminal procedure, transparency of law enforcement, privacy, cybercrime.
