Conducts research, analytical and methodological work in the fields of criminal law, criminal procedure, prosecutorial supervision, state prosecution, and the improvement of legislation and law enforcement practice.
Applies extensive practical experience in the prosecution service when preparing applied research, research-based legal positions, methodological recommendations and proposals aimed at improving prosecutorial practice.
Lead author of an applied research study on the application of Article 50 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, prepared as part of the Academy’s legal research position for the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The study examines the limits of applying lifelong disqualification from holding certain positions for corruption offences, the right to work and the constitutional principle of proportionality. The work included analysis of criminal, criminal procedure, labour and public service legislation, judicial practice and foreign experience, and resulted in practical proposals on the interpretation and further development of Article 50 of the Criminal Code.
Lead author of research on the legal regulation and safe use of artificial intelligence in prosecutorial work. One of the principal areas of this work is the scientific concept of an “Intelligent Assistant for a Prosecutor in a Criminal Case”, intended to provide analytical and methodological support for prosecutorial decision-making when supervising pre-trial investigations and referring criminal cases to court. His research addresses the legal limits of algorithmic decision support in procedural powers, human responsibility for decisions made with the use of artificial intelligence, and safeguards for legality and security in the deployment of digital technologies.
Lead author of methodological recommendations on the prevention of suicide among military personnel, designed for practical use by military prosecution offices and other prevention bodies.
Developed a methodology for investigating criminal cases involving suicides of minors. It includes action algorithms, checklists, lists of required documents, types of forensic examinations to be commissioned, and questions to be put to experts.
Co-author of the Scientific and Practical Commentary on the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the Prosecutor’s Office”.
Participated in preparing conceptual proposals for a new edition of the criminal and criminal procedure legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Prepared applied research and analytical materials on the constitutional and legal assessment of criminal procedure provisions, improvement of liability for criminal offences committed in complicity, differentiation between a criminal group and lawful collective activity, and criminal liability for involving persons in a criminal environment.
Participated in an applied study of factors contributing to offences against the sexual inviolability of minors and in the preparation of methodological recommendations for interviewing minor victims, witnesses and suspects in this category of criminal cases.
Conducted analytical research on the confiscation of property acquired from proceeds of drug trafficking.
An independent area of his research is the development of the institution of state prosecution. Author of the scholarly article “State Prosecution in Kazakhstan: Problems of Institutional Reform”. His research addresses the professionalisation of state prosecutors, collegial formulation of the prosecution position, improvement of trial preparation, and the use of modern analytical tools.
Participates in international and national academic and practice-oriented events, expert discussions, round tables and conferences. In 2026, he took part in the Tashkent Cyberlex-2026 International Scientific and Practical Forum “Ensuring the Rule of Law in the Digital Age: Balancing Innovation, Human Rights and Security”, as well as in academic events on digitalisation, criminal justice, human rights protection and the development of research activities.
Contributes to improving the organisation of research at the Academy, including the development of research performance indicators and approaches to assessing the practical impact of applied research results.
