On March 29, the Academy hosted an Interuniversity scientific and practical seminar with the participation of young scientists on the modernization of the criminal procedure legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by magistracy, doctoral students and teachers of higher educational institutions, representatives of law enforcement agencies and human rights organizations.
Igor Rogov Deputy Director of the Fund of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as other well-known scientists in the field of criminal procedure were invited as experts.
During the seminar, the proposals of young scientists on further improvement of existing legislation were considered.
An exchange of experience and opinions on the use of scientific and technical means during interrogation and confrontation, improvement of the institute of a procedural agreement in the form of cooperation took place.
The issues of court consideration of criminal cases in conciliation proceedings, the application of a plea bargain and the development of the mediation institution in the criminal process were also discussed.
Following the meeting, recommendations were developed aimed at improving the criminal law and strengthening human rights standards.
