A training seminar on the topic “Combating Poaching in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, organized by the Law Enforcement Academy in conjunction with the OSCE Office in Nur Sultan, is being held at the Almaty Prosecutor’s Office.
Environmental protection prosecutors and police, representatives of public associations of forestry and hunting entities, other interested state bodies, and scientists participate in the work.
Trainings are conducted by international experts from Australia and Georgia, as well as Kazakhstani specialists and law enforcement officials.
During the event, relevant issues of combating poaching, improving the efficiency of legislative support of environmental protection and domestic law enforcement practice are considered.
Based on the results of the discussion, based on the materials of criminal cases, an algorithm of actions by employees of territorial inspectorates in emergency situations will be worked out.
November 13 this year As part of the training exercise, a trip to the Almaty State Nature Reserve is planned, where 57% of the variety of specially protected animal species, including the snow leopard, is located.
A consolidated team of environmental prosecutors, environmental police, representatives of the Ministry of Ecology of Geology and Natural Resources, territorial inspections for the protection of specially protected areas, the Association of hunters and international organizations in the field will get acquainted with the work of huntsmen.

According to the results, it is planned to launch a pilot project on the establishment of camera traps in the territory of the Almaty State Nature Reserve to suppress the activities of poachers and preserve the number of rare and endangered species of animals.
