National Conference on Advancing the «Women, Peace and Security» Agenda

On December 2, 2025, the National Conference «Women, Peace and Security: Lessons Learned and Next Steps» was held, organized by the Law Enforcement Academy under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the OSCE Programme Office in Astana.

The event brought together representatives of government bodies, international organizations, the diplomatic community, and NGOs. Participants discussed the implementation of the National Action Plan on WPS for 2022–2025, key results achieved, and directions for the next stage.

Three sessions addressed issues of women’s participation in the security sector, the integration of gender approaches into the activities of law enforcement agencies, Kazakhstan’s peacekeeping contributions, as well as global WPS trends and OSCE practices.

During group work, proposals were developed on coordination, monitoring, and cooperation with regions. The Academy presented educational and research initiatives incorporating gender-sensitive approaches.

The conference concluded with the adoption of final recommendations and confirmation of readiness for further cooperation.
