With the support of the OSCE Program Office in Dushanbe, the national trainers of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted a two-day training on countering financial crimes and cross-border human trafficking for law enforcement and judicial officials of the Republic of Tajikistan.
A separate topic of the training was the study of the positive experience of Kazakhstan and foreign countries on the return of stolen assets, confiscation procedures and compensation for victims of crimes.
For the Central Asian region, due to the geopolitical situation caused by instability in the geographical countries of the Middle East, the issues of combating such threats as extremism and terrorism, drug trafficking, human trafficking, migration, financial, environmental and cybercrime are particularly acute.
On the basis of the Academy, with the active support of foreign countries and organizations (UN, OSCE, EU), a Regional hub has been operating for more than five years, which is positioned as an international training and research center on countering global threats.
In its work, the Regional Hub provides assistance to the Central Asian States to increase their human and scientific potential in combating challenges to modern peace, security and stability.
More than one and a half thousand practitioners, including from near and far abroad countries, annually improve their qualifications at its site. Trainers and experts from more than 20 countries (Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Romania, USA, Estonia, CIS, etc.) teach them advanced methods of combating crime.
