The Interdepartmental Research Institute of the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies held a round table on the topic “The current state of the theory and practice of the institute of Punishment in the system of preventing criminal offenses” in an online format.
It was attended by employees of the Academy’s institutes, judges of the Supreme Court, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, committees of the criminal executive system and administrative police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Belarusian State University, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin and other universities.
The problems of the theory and practice of the institution of punishment, ways to improve the regulatory legal regulation and law enforcement activities in the framework of improving the effectiveness of criminal law measures are discussed.
As a result of the round table, practical recommendations were developed aimed at solving the problems raised, improving legislation and law enforcement practice in the context of increasing the effectiveness of punishment in the system of measures for the prevention of criminal offenses.
