The Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies has launched a three-stage cycle of training prosecutors to work in the transition to a three-tier model of criminal prosecution.
Today, as part of the first stage, a special seminar was held for the heads of regional and equivalent prosecutor’s offices: regional prosecutors, their deputies, and heads of specialized departments.
The seminar was attended by Deputy Prosecutor General Yerlik Kenenbayev, the leadership and representatives of the Criminal Prosecution Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Academy, as well as the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts.
As Yerlik Kenenbayev noted in his speech, today the Academy faces a responsible task – to provide professional training of the prosecutor’s office for effective work in the new conditions of the criminal process.
Opening the event, the Rector of the Academy Yergali Merzadinov stressed the importance of the training courses in the light of the special role of the prosecutor in coordinating and approving key procedural decisions.
The main objectives of the seminar are the exchange of experience in the new model of criminal prosecution, the discussion of the main problematic issues that arise in practice, for the subsequent development of appropriate measures.
At the next stage of the training cycle, similar seminars will be organized for city and district prosecutors and their deputies.
Then the training will be conducted by the employees of the prosecutor’s Office directly involved in this area of work.
