On December 10 of this year, at an online meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS member States, a decision was signed to give the Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan the status of a basic organization for retraining and advanced training of prosecutor’s and investigative staff of the prosecutor’s offices of the CIS member states.
The new status is recognition of the achievements of the educational institution and will expand opportunities for the exchange of practical experience and knowledge between the prosecutor’s offices of the Commonwealth countries in the fight against crime, ensuring law and order, and protecting human and civil rights and freedoms.
This will allow us to form a unified information and analytical base of the most extensive knowledge in the field of prosecutorial and investigative activities, as well as expand the possibility of assisting criminal prosecution authorities in attracting experts and specialists from the CIS.
The main functions of the Basic Organization are professional development; exchange of scientific and educational materials; development of common approaches and promotion of cooperation between universities of the CIS member states, the introduction of modern, innovative methods and forms in the educational process.
This status will facilitate joint international events and scientific research for the creation and effective development of the prosecutor’s and investigative work of the CIS member States.
It should be noted that since 2017, the Academy has been a Regional Hub in the field of countering global threats in Central Asia and since 2018-the basic organization of the CIS member states for advanced training and retraining of personnel for tax (financial) investigation bodies.
